Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond hair and an ebullient persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion of cooking and food early on. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. It was impossible to take enough enjoyment from it. After graduating Chef Burrell resided in Italy for one year taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the lives of children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. She talks about her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world as she frequently travels throughout the US in various roles such as speakers and mentors.
