Emily Swallow

Emily Swallow (born December 18 1979) is an American actress from the United States. She is well-known for her role as Kim Fischer on The Mentalist and as Amara the Darkness in the 11th season of Supernatural. She was also the Armorer in Star Wars' live-action series The Mandalorian. Emily played part in a minor role on The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born the 18th of December 1979 in Washington, D.C. She was raised in Sterling, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. While at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, she began acting in various amateur, college, and professional theatre productions. In 2001, she graduated with a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia, and then studied for an MFA in Acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.Swallow began her professional career on Broadway theatre which she acted in diverse productions, such as High Fidelity, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Guthrie Theater, Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park, and the world-premiere of off-Broadway productions Romantic Poetry and Measure for Pleasure.In 2008, Swallow made her film debut in the military drama The Lucky Ones. She was a part of two world premieres: Donald Margulies' play The Country House, Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; and Mark Rylance's play Nice Fish, at the Guthrie Theatre. (citation needed) She was awarded the Falstaff Award in 2010 for the best female performer for the part of Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. In 2012, Swallow and Jac Huberman co-created a stage play called Jac N Swallow. The show was staged in Joe's Pub and the Laurie Beeckman Theater in New York. The show focuses on the comic misadventures of the two as they confront a myriad of life situations, each with their own unique degree of sanity, and decency.
